Okay so i'm SURE you all heard about the alleged Chris Brown/Rihanna case of domestic abuse right? It's terrible if it did happen, and i say did because we don't know if it's true or not, the cause is still covered as an 'alleged' assault. Here's one thing that's for sure, if he did it, then that's terrible cause no man should place his hands on a female...EVER, under no circumstances. Let's get this straight, i don't condone any abuse by any gender upon another gender or the same, but i must say that the media is portraying Rihanna as an innocent stand-byer. What i mean by that is that they're saying it like "holy shoots and ladders chris brown just flipped a sh*t and hit the f*ck out of rihanna continually", this may or may not be the case but we've seen these two celebrities haven't we? You know going out and about but think about it, does Chris really look like the one to just attack someone for the hell of it? Nah i didn't think so. She MUST have done something to fuel his anger like that, that doesn't excuse him from hitting her, giving her contusions, biting her and all that ridiculous nonsense [we've seen the pictures and please note the sarcasm].
The one thing about this case that has me fuming is not that radio's are having people calling in giving their takes on things, its the people who say:
"Rihanna is a bad influence on my daughter because she went back to Chris, now my daughter is taught to go back to a man that beats women"
or
"He's a bad influence on my son, i don't ever want him to lay a hand on his girlfriend or wife, what have you"
what do i say to that? I say that it's not Chris or Rihanna condoning it, it's you lazy parents who don't have the foresight to sit your child down and tell um that going back to an abuser is wrong or abusing anyone is fine. Chris and Rihanna are not holding up a sign to have domestic abuse totally out there and glamourous, they're not out there to do that, i'm sure cause otherwise they'd have a song about it by now. What i'm saying is that parents who are "afraid" "worried" what ever adjective they use to exploit this terribly sad story even more than it already is, is that, if you truly are concerned, sit your kid down and talk to them about, don't go on a radio and say that these two particular stars [and hollywood in general] are fostering negative images in your child's head.
This brings me to the second part, sex on television, it's here, it's ganna stay get used to it. When they attack shows like Gossip Girl, 90210 and various other reality shows and say they promote sex, sure they do, but to say that they cause kids to have sex is wrong. Parents who think that their kid won't listen to reason have lost to begin with, don't psych yourself out, in the end kids return to the values of their parents, so if you have a problem with your kid going out and f-ing whatever has genitalia and a heart beat [or no heart beat for those necrophiliacs out there] then talk to them about it, i'm sure they'll listen. When it comes down to it it's all about reputation, sex can get you both a positive and negative one. What are you proud to live with at the end of the day? Being called a man-whore/slut because you had sex with one person, or being called a pussy/prude cause you have values and won't compromise them? In the end, a slut losses more friends than a prude ever would, people look up to others with values.
Think on it!
[this video is hilarious; he made it before the photo came out]
